What is considered good sportsmanship at Backgammon Galaxy?

Modified on Tue, 20 May at 1:17 PM

Good sportsmanship includes:

  • Respectful Communication: Treat all players, including your opponents and observers, with courtesy. Avoid insults, personal attacks, harassment, or any form of abusive language in chat (if available) or any communication channels. Please do not spam emojis or other visual communication to annoy your opponent.

  • Playing to Completion: Unless there's a genuine emergency or disconnection, please complete your games. Intentionally disconnecting or stalling in a losing position is considered poor form.

  • Fair Play: Do not use any external assistance, bots, or engage in any form of cheating. Rely on your own skill and understanding of the game.

  • Graciousness in Victory & Defeat: Acknowledge a good game from your opponent, whether you win or lose. Simple phrases like "Well played!" or "Good game!" (which are available as pre-set chat options – referencing your emoji/chat screenshot) are encouraged.

  • Understanding Dice Variance: Backgammon involves luck. Avoid blaming opponents for "lucky rolls" or becoming excessively frustrated by dice outcomes. Focus on making the best strategic plays with the rolls you get.
