How do I navigate out of a specific screen, like "Stats" or "Avatars"?

Look for a prominent "Back" arrow icon (usually a left-pointing arrow in the top left corner of the screen). Clicking this will take you to the previous menu or screen. Important: Clicking 'x' from the Analysis view will take you all the way back to the lobby.
