What does it mean to "hit" an opponent's checker?

Modified on Tue, 20 May at 1:15 PM

If your opponent has a single checker (a "blot") on a point, and you land on that point with one of your checkers, their checker is "hit" and placed on the "bar" (usually the central divider of the board). They must re-enter that checker from the bar into your home board on their next turn before they can make any other moves.
